Pet Bereavement
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself!
There is nothing quite like the loss of a beloved pet. It is a pain that sears deep in your heart. The uncomplicated love that animals give us is not something we can get from “2-leggeds”, at least for any sustainable amount of time. And rarely in as an unconditional way. Animals are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.
I have had pets most of the seven decades I have been alive. My sorrow over the loss of my first dog, Lady, over 50 years ago still brings tears to my eyes. Since 1994, I have never been pet-less. During this time I have lost four cats and two dogs. My last dog, Foxy, died on March 14, 2022 and, by March 26, 2022 I had already adopted another dog. The very thought of life without Foxy was so daunting that I knew I had to fill that space asap. I get it. I know how to help you navigate it. If you come in person, my newest squeeze, Stella, will assist! If we do Zoom, she will be on my lap.
